The idea of a Human Library began as a way to help people hear from voices from which they might not normally hear. In a library where some books are read more often than others, we can miss out on some of the richness of those books that we don't read. And so, in order to continue the the conversation about race and racial identity in both faith and in culture, this evening will invite voices from the TMH community that we might not normally hear from, or not hear from on the topic of race, to share their stories and perspectives.

Ray Chung and Heather Beaty will moderate a panel of four individuals from The Meeting House: Tiffany Jeffers, Jamar Gittens Jr., Jeff Bell, and Michelle Jacobs.

This TMH Talk will be held at the Auditorium at TMH Carlisle and will also be streamed online on Tuesday, Sept. 22 at 6:30pm. For those who register to attend in person, we ask that you follow the same guidelines that we follow during our Sunday services, which can be reviewed at For those who register to attend online, you will be sent a link on the evening of the talk which will allow you to join in!

In the weeks following the talk, there will be the opportunity for small group engagement both in person at our campuses or online.
